I had a nightmare last night – a proper one where you wake up in a cold sweat. This is something I haven’t experienced for at least a decade or so but that’s not the strange thing. After all, lots of people have nightmares. What made this one unusual was what had made it so scary!
In the dream I was being pursued by a bunch of mindless louts intent on roughing me up for no real reason other that their own entertainment – but that’s not the scary part. I took refuge in a busy car workshop where there were plenty of people who offered me their smart phones to call the police but (this is the bit that gave me the cold sweats) the interfaces were so badly designed that I couldn’t figure out how to use any of them! In other words, I had a nightmare about badly designed interfaces!
